Stow Parks and Recreation is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the 2024 Silver Springs Day Camp program. This year's camp was filled with adventure, learning, and fun, providing over 200 children from Stow and surrounding communities with an unforgettable summer experience.
Camp Highlights: Throughout the summer, campers engaged in a wide range of activities designed to promote physical fitness, creativity, and teamwork. Highlights from the camp include:
- Nature Exploration: Campers enjoyed daily hikes and nature exploration at Silver Springs Park.
- Arts and Crafts: Creativity flourished as children participated in various arts and crafts projects, creating everything from paintings to handmade jewelry.
- Sports and Games: The camp's sports program included soccer, basketball, and relay races, promoting physical health and teamwork.
- Swimming: Campers cooled off with regular swimming sessions, developing their skills and having fun in the water.
- Field Trips: Exciting field trips to the Cleveland Zoo, Sky Zone, Kent Movie Theater, Great Lakes Science Center, and Kent Lanes for Glow Bowling provided enriching experiences and a sense of adventure.
Special Events:
- Talent Show: One week of camp culminated in a talent show where campers showcased their unique talents in singing, dancing, magic tricks, and more.
- Guest Speakers: We were honored to host guest speakers from various fields, including environmentalists, local artists, and sports coaches, who inspired and educated our campers.
- Camp Olympics: Celebrating the beginning of this year’s summer Olympics 2024, camp wrapped up with a fun and competitive camp Olympics and pizza party.
